Key Details

Amalie Bang, Legal Officer, Columbia Global Freedom of Expression, recently published on the National Law Review  an article outlining Case Law from the European Court of Human Rights in 2016.
This article provides an overview of some of the most significant recent freedom of expression rulings from the European Court of Human Rights. As in previous years a major part of the judgments concern defamation. A landmark ruling on access to information was issued in 2016 and in the field of right to protest there have been quite a few noteworthy cases. The Court has also developed its case law concerning liability for comments posted on the internet. The article has been divided into thematic sections to give a better overview.  For full text of the National Law Review article from URL: http://www.natlawreview.com/article/case-law-european-court-human-rights-2016
