Summary

Several issues have predominated in Latin America and the Caribbean. As economic and political crises stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic increased public dissatisfaction with governments, access to information as well as information integrity were compromised in many countries. 

This report details the ongoing efforts by activists in the region to secure a right to information, protect election integrity, protect the right to public protest, improve safety for journalists, prevent curtailment of civic space, and expand digital privacy.
