Fernando Méndez Powell
Fernando Méndez Powell is Acting Director of Legal Advice at the Office of the Ombudsman of Panama and an adjunct professor at Florida State University – Republic of Panama Campus. He holds a Ph.D in Law from Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) an E.MA in Human Rights and Democratization from the European Inter-University Centre (Venice, Italy) a LL.M in International and Comparative Law from Indiana University (Indianapolis, USA) and a Bachelor in Law and Political Science from Universidad Santa María la Antigua (Panama). He is co-author of a textbook on International Human Rights Law which has been cited in judicial decisions and several academic articles dealing with the relationship between human rights and broadcasting policy and regulation; and the possible conflicts between the rights of parents, children, educators and educational institutions that may occur in the field of education.
