Columbia Global Freedom of Expression participated in the Southeast Asia Digital Rights Camp (COCONET) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 22 – 26 October, 2017. The camp gathered more than 100 activists, researchers, journalists and film makers from Southeast Asia, including some participants from other parts of Asia and Pacific. The camp was hosted by EngageMedia, Association for Progressive Communications (APC), and Southeast Asia Press Alliance (SEAPA). The five-day event included assemblies, hosting sessions, and a field trip enabling participants to share their experiences and their best practices working on digital rights.
