Stephanie Bassil

Stephanie Bassil is a Lebanese legal researcher with a focus on international law, freedom of expression, and content moderation. She holds an LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where her work concentrated on comparative approaches to digital rights, financial regulation, and international dispute resolution. 
Stephanie has nearly two years of experience as a researcher, including leading the development and launch of the French version of a global database on freedom of expression. She was first introduced to this field through her participation in the Price Media Law Moot Court at the University of Oxford. She was later selected for the Global Freedom of Expression alumni seminar, engaging in in-depth training on international standards of freedom of expression and platform regulation.
Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Stephanie brings a multilingual and cross-cultural perspective to her work. Her research interests include freedom of expression, digital governance, international arbitration, and the intersection of technology and human rights.
