Giorgi Sulkhanishvili

Giorgi Sulkhanishvili is a Chief Adviser in the Department of Legal Provision and Research at the Constitutional Court of Georgia, where he mainly works on legal issues of the pending cases, performs legal research, provides the judges of the Constitutional Court with legal advice and drafts the judgments of the Court.

Giorgi is a co-founder of the “Law and Innovation Research Center (LIRC)” – an NGO, which focuses on two main research areas: 1. Law and Technologies; 2. Approximation of the EU-Georgia association agreement. In different periods, Giorgi was a visiting lecturer of the constitutional and human rights law at two Georgian universities (Ilia State University and Grigol Robakidze University).

Giorgi holds master’s degrees (LLM) in Comparative Constitutional Law from the Central European University (Budapest) and in Private Law from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Giorgi also studied EU law and economics at Riga Graduate School of Law (Latvia). Giorgi is a Ph.D. candidate at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The right to privacy and the police searches and seizures are at the center of his research interests.

With his native Georgian, Giorgi speaks fluent English and Russian.
