Valentina Vera Quiroz
Valentina Vera Quiroz is a legal researcher for Global Freedom of Expression at Columbia University. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and a Minor in Government and Public Affairs from University of Los Andes, Colombia. During Law School, she worked as a teaching undergraduate assistant for Public International Law and Statistics for the Social Sciences, and she was member of the University’s Legal Aid Clinic where she worked as legal advisor of victims of the armed conflict in Colombia. Valentina participated at Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, in Washington D.C., where she was awarded as best oralist as well as the best team of the international exhibition rounds.
She has worked as researcher in the compliance practice in Latin America with research on national and international standards. Valentina currently serves as the coordinator of the Latin American Chapter of the Columbia Global Freedom of Expression Initiative at the University of Los Andes, and she coordinates the master’s program in International Law at said University.
Her areas of interest include Public International Law, International Law of Human Rights, Comparative and Constitutional Law.
