Launch of French Language Global Case Law Database
French Database Launch: Webinar Series on Freedom of Expression
Columbia Global Freedom of Expression expands its global reach: our flagship Case Law Database will soon be available in French. We are excited to introduce the French-speaking community to the Database resources, promoting the highest standards of freedom of expression around the world.
To mark the launch, join our four upcoming webinars in French, with simultaneous interpretation in English. We will present the database and what it offers, including Special Collection Papers – CGFoE’s publication series on the most significant freedom of expression decisions of national and international courts. Six of these papers are now available in French. They cover internet shutdowns, hate speech, the right to be forgotten, the African System of Human and Peoples’ Rights, the Inter-American System of Human Rights, and the Grand Chamber of the ECtHR. At each webinar, one Special Collection Paper author will speak about their findings. Acclaimed legal scholars and other experts will join the discussions.
The French language database and this webinar series are made possible with the support of UNESCO Multi-Donor Programme on Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists (MDP), and the Cyrilla Collaborative, with funding from The Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) at Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya.
