Brenna Carpenter
Brenna Carpenter is a legal researcher for the Global Freedom of Expression and Information at Columbia University. Brenna attended the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and spent a semester abroad at Fundação Getúlio Vargas – Direito, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During law school, Brenna focused on international human rights, immigration law, and advocacy. She was privileged to be able to intern with the U.S. Department of State as both a Politics and Economics Intern at the U.S. Consulate in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and as a Legal Extern at the Office of the Legal Adviser in Washington, D.C. Brenna has also worked with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, the International Rescue Committee, the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, and Arizona State University’s Immigration Law & Policy Clinic. She currently practices law and is licensed in California.
