Sarthak Gupta

Sarthak Gupta serves as a Judicial Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate at the Supreme Court of India. He holds a B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) degree from the Institute of Law, Nirma University, India. Additionally, he contributes as an editor and researcher to Columbia University’s Global Freedom of Expression project and Cambridge Journal of Law, Art and Politics. His research interests span Comparative Constitutional Law and Public International Law, with a particular focus on Anti-Discrimination Law, Digital Constitutionalism, Freedom of Expression, Feminist and Queer Legal Theories, and Reproductive Justice.

Sarthak is a former Judicial Intern to the Chief Justice (now) Dr Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, Supreme Court of India. In various capacities, he has worked with leading Indian and international research institutions including the United Nations International Law Commission, the Center for Criminal Administration Justice & Human Rights, and Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative. In the past, he has also served as an intern in the Chambers of many Indian lawyers including Constitutional lawyer Menaka Guruswamy, Criminal lawyer Rebecca John, and other legal research centers.

Sarthak has also served as a writer and editor at the JURIST (online legal news & commentary website), University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
